I guess I took a couple of days off. Not meaning to but I guess I needed it to get other things done. So here's a little update about my goings on.
I've been working on a project for a good friend of mine for her daughter's first birthday. It's the back drop for the photo booth and I'm very pleased with how it's turned out.
Speaking of birthdays, LM and his friends are all about the same age and that means that we can officially usher in the season of birthday parties! I know it will be like this for the rest of my life and even more so with any subsequent children. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy to do this and go to the parties, just taking my time so that I can give my full attention.
On a spiritual note, I gave up sweets for Lent. I'm not sure I could have thought of a more inopportune time to do so. Either that or I am clearly being tempted at every turn.
I NEVER get valentines from my kids at the studio. If I do, they are if the paper variety, sometimes with a lollipop slid through the side. Not being a huge fan of lollipops, I'm pretty much safe there. Not this year! I'm am so happy my kids/their parents love me enough to give me presents, but I literally got about an ENTIRE bag of Kit Kats inside a cute tumbler. Unlike lollipops, they happen to be one of my favorites! Also, a yummy box of cupcakes (luckily given on Fat Tuesday so I got to try them), a chocolate lollipop heart (the kind of lollipop I love), a bag of Lindor chocolates, and a few assorted chocolates of other varieties. This was Thursday.
Cut to Saturday, I'm standing in line at Starbucks, waiting for my drink, when one of the employees starts handing out something. When he got to me I looked at what it was, caramel brulee chocolate bites....COME ON!
On top of all this, if you remember from above, it's birthday season. Cake! And if you've been to any local store, Girl Scout cookie season. WHAT!? WHY!? So needless to say that, after most of the candy left with my husband to share at work, I have the rest waiting patiently for me in the freezer alongside my very own box of samoas.
Monday was met with a visit to the pediatrician. Teething has thrown us for a loop this go round and left LM with a, so far, 2 week runny nose and cough. Just to be safe we had him checked out since he'd been around someone who's been pretty sick. However, all is well with my sweet boy and all he needed was something to clear up the yucks.
On a fun note, I finally finished a book! First one in MONTHS! I used to read all the time but it's become a bit harder to keep up with these days. As part of my resolutions this year, I want to read at least one book a month. This one took two but it's a start. So yay for that.
Never fear, through all this I have been crafting away so I'm ready to get back in the swing of it!
