Wordless(ish) Wednesday: Relief

Last week I shared my need of faith.  Today I share with you my overwhelming relief.

LM was such a champ in his surgery.  I was able to take him back to the room and hold his hand until he went to sleep.  It was hard but we had so much support, both in person and via social media.
Thank you to everyone who offered words of encouragement and love.

Frozen Hot Chocolate

Oxymoron, I know, but delicious!
While at Target one day, I found this delicious peanut butter cup hot chocolate.  But since it's summer, I have no desire to drink something hot!  (That excludes coffee, of course!)
Here's my solution.

Make the hot chocolate according to the directions.  I suggest following the stovetop directions so that it makes more.

Pour into your molds and freeze.

I'm not really sure why I didn't do this before!

LM  loves them too!

Happy Father's Day!

This is my Daddy.

Yes, at 27, I still call him daddy.  My mom however calls him Prince Daddy.
I guess I'm a little bit of a daddy's girl.

He's a true hero.
A wonderful, shining example of a hardworking man and loving father.

I love you, daddy!

And don't think I left out LM's daddy!!

Hubby, you're such a good daddy to our sweet boy.  I am so happy he has you to look up to as a father and a man.

Saw It, Pinned It, Tried It: Color Coded Keys

I'm not sure who came up with painting objects besides your nails with nail polish, but I think they're crazy genius.  It totally makes sense! I did it with my keys since I have quite a few.  I took the 3 that I use the most and picked out a fun color for each.

Original Pin:

What You'll Need:
Nail Polish
Keys
Sealant (I added this)

Paint the top part of the key only, not the part that goes into the lock.  Paint as many coats as you need and let them dry.  Then spray the key(s) with a sealant just to ensure a longer wear on the paint.

For my glitter key, I had to do a base coat of a different color before I used the glitter coat.  It took A LOT of patience waiting for it to dry each time.

I barely have to look at my keys now to find the right one and I'm pretty happy about that!

Thrifty Thursday: DIY Hoop Decor

So, I have this dress/shirt/tunic top.

I absolutely love the print but, as you can tell by my description of it, it's an awkward length.  I think I've worn it a total of 2 times in the year (probably longer) that I've owned it.  Once as a dress and once as a shirt.

Proof that I wore it!
Both times I just felt weird in it.  But I hated to give up the print that I loved so much.  Here's how I remedied that!

What You'll Need:
Old piece of clothing
Embroidery hoop
Embroidery thread and needle

Cut out a piece of your fabric that will cover the hoop.  I cut mine right above the gathering and now can wear the bottom half as a skirt!

Lay the fabric over the inner hoop and place the outer hoop on top.  Pull the fabric taught and tighten the the hoop until it doesn't move.

Draw out your design.  You can free hand it if you like but I didn't think I could pull that off.

Trace your design with stitches as many times as needed.  My fabric is busy and a little dark so I made two rounds of stitches on each word.

When you're happy with how the front looks, start gathering the access fabric on the back by sewing it together.

Of course I added it to my gallery wall!
